Taking a picture is for some people a pure technical thing to do…
For me it’s everything else than technology.
I have to admit technology helps getting me there but in the end the image is what counts..
What Is my goal in photography, what do I attempt to express? That is one mighty question. I have thought about it for a very long time starting at the point “Damn I am so not creative” passing by the stage of “Look how good that picture is…” falling into the pit of “That image is not what I have expected it to be” and realizing that:
taking an image is easy, making one is hard….
Today I have a somewhat better idea of my image and what it is supposed to be. For one I make 360 degree round images, Yes I know everybody takes Panoramic shots in these days. It’s kind of a hip thing to do. But let’s be hones most images are simply horrible and not what a viewers eye should be bashed with. No I also don’t claim to make the Panoramic shot of all times. O’contraire. I create an Image that I see before it is taken and if I am fortunate also manifests itself once it is printed. New landscapes That’s my thing. I take a normal landscape (a nice one of course) and attempt by extending the viewers 50mm’s to 360 degrees, to create a new image of a normal and not changeable site. This is not done by a heavy Photoshopping effort, It is done by stitching the partial images into a new one.
Enough now, of all the eloquent writing me into photo heaven.
This is not the end of my Photography, I have several projects lined up and ready to go. It’s simply a matter of seeing the image…
